Welcome to our July Sale, which has now been running for two weeks and has seen hundreds of lines sell out.

With that in mind we have now gone live with a full update of the sale, adding hundreds of new and further reduced wines. These are marked as Added to Sale and Further Reduced.

As usual the wines are divided into two categories: firstly those of perfect appearance which are simply reduced because we need to make room for new purchases.  There are some huge reductions here, with some wines offered at half price, but you’ll need to be quick to grab those at the biggest discounts. Secondly there are those which have minor imperfections to packaging or labels, neither of which affect the quality of the wine and where you can find some spectacular bargains.

There are over 1,200 wines on offer – most discounted by at least 10%, and some by considerably more. Apart from selecting wines from our own stocks, we have been able to purchase some really keenly-priced parcels of Bordeaux recently and many interesting wines from our customer reserves that we are selling on a commission basis.

Do check back regularly as we will continue to scour our stocks throughout the month and make additions to the sale.

Highlights

Red Bordeaux

2017 Montlandrie - Reduced from £175 to £144 per 12. This fantastic vintage of Montlandrie is just £12 a bottle in bond. It has 94 points from Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW among a host of other good scores. Moreover, this is a staff favourite, it really packs a punch for a modest price.

2019 Haut Batailley - Further reduced from £420 to £370 per 12, with further discounts for multiple cases. Just the third vintage made by the Cazes family since their takeover of this Pauillac property in 2017, the added power, depth and ripeness to this wine has yielded a host of excellent scores including 95 points from Neal Martin - "classic in style, very well balanced with wonderful tension. It fans out effortlessly on the finish. Superb."

2019 Carbonnieux Rouge - Further reduced from £130 to £105 per 6. This Graves property has produced a smooth, ready-to-drink wine in 2019 that is "an absolute delight to taste today" according to Antonio Galloni.

2020 La Lagune - Further reduced from £324 to £250 per 12. A wine that "turned out beautifully" according to William Kelley in his 94-point review, this muscular and deep Haut Médoc is now over 20% off.

2019 Joanin Bécot - A new addition reduced from £155 to £140 per 12. Coming from the Beauséjour-Bécot stable, this Castillon vineyard is made very much in the style of its Saint Emilion sibling. 20% whole-bunch and a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it has 93 points from Yohan Castaing in the Wine Advocate.

Sweet White Bordeaux

2018 Closiot Bonneau - Further reduced from £197.50 to £150 per 6. This stunning sweet wine from Jean-Marie Guffens' Barsac estate is now over 20% off. A 95-point William Kelley wine, he describes it as "another compelling wine from Jean-Marie Guffens."

2023 Coutet - Further reduced from £180 to £115 per 6. A huge reduction for this pretty and detailed Coutet that is disarmingly delicious despite its youth. 94-96 from Neal Martin and 96 from Jane Anson.

Red Burgundy

2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Concis du Champs Rouge, Jean-Claude Bachelet - Further reduced from £240 to £210 per 6. From the vintage where brothers Benoît and Jean-Baptiste moved to 22 month élevage, reducing the need for filtration or manipulation. As a result, wines like this 2023 Concis du Champs Rouge have an attractive, approachable fruit that means you can drink it now.

2022 Vosne Romanee, Drouhin - A new addition reduced from £360 to £330 per 6. A wine that Jasper Morris MW describes as "Very nicely put together", this Vosne from Drouhin is a reliable wine that tastes of where and when it is from.

Domaine Ghislaine Barthod - a selection of perfect, mature wines from this benchmark Chambolle producer.

2023 Echezeaux, Rouget - Reduced from £5,400 to £4,800 per 12. This is the first vintage that a parcel of Clos St Denis was added to Les Treux and Cruots. It is understandably a wine that will need time - as Meadows confirms - "This is a big wine, both in the context of what is typical for Echézeaux but also in terms of the 2023 vintage."

The Rhône Valley

Multiple vintages of Ex-domaine Hermitage La Chapelle are reduced in the sale. This icon of the northern Rhône has perfect provenance and excellent prices.

2019 Côte Rôtie Terrasses, Jean-Luc Jamet - Reduced from £300 to £240 per 6. Since the split from the family domaine, Jean-Luc Jamet's wines have gone from strength to strength. This 2019 is a great example of the strides he made in the first decade as a winemaker, a superb interplay of aromatic intensity from whole-bunch with rounded edges and supple fruit. 96 points from Jeb Dunnuck.

2019 Châteauneuf du Pape Barbe-Rac, Chapoutier - A new addition reduced from £240 net £210 per 6. Little needs saying about the wines from the perfectionist producer Chapoutier. This 100% Grenache comes from a single vineyard and is entirely aged in concrete. The scores are consistently high - 96 from Jeb Dunnuck, James Suckling and Joe Czerwinski.

2020 Château Grillet - A new addition reduced from £750 to £675 per 3. One of the Rhône's most iconic white wines, this monopole now has the backing of the Artemis group that own Château Latour, Clos de Tart and Domaine d'Eugenie among others. 98 points in Vinous.

Champagne

2020 Chartogne-Taillet Hors Serie - Further reduced from £600 to £540 per 6. Our last few cases of Chartogne-Taillet's brilliant Hors Serie are now £60 off. A Blanc de Blancs sourced from Avize, it is powerful, direct and very complex, a superb wine worthy of its 96 point score in the Wine Advocate.

2002 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne - Reduced from £1,150 to £1,100 per 6. We have another fantastic parcel of mature Comtes de Champagne from one of the region's great vintages. 98 points from William Kelley, Neal Martin and Antonio Galloni - this is a serious wine with a worthy reputation.

2015 Dom Perignon Basquiat Edition - A new addition reduced from £1,160 to £1,040 per 6. Dom Perignon's limited edition releases always attract collectors. This tribute to Jean-Michel Basquiat captures the artist's unique style on both the label and the gift box.

Italy

2020 Brunello, Pertimali (Livio Sassetti) - Further reduced from £175 to £135 per 6. £40 off per 6 for this Brunello that Eric Guido describes as having "tremendous length and potency" in his 94-point review.

2020 Chianti Classico Il Poggio, Monsanto - Reduced from £380 to £335 per 6. This Chianti from Monsanto was Vinous' Wine of the Year in 2025. Antonio Galloni says it "is a total stunner. What a wine. Elegant and translucent, the 2020 impresses with a sublime, finessed personality that is impossible to miss."

2010 Cepparello, Isole E Olena - Reduced from £440 to £390 per 6. This mature vintage of the celebrated Cepparello is "magnificent" according to Antonio Galloni and is now right in its prime drinking window.

2018 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata, Costamagna - A new addition reduced from £120 to £100 per 6. A steal for any Barolo, let alone one from this vineyard, this is a wine that speaks of where it's from and is tremendous value for money.

U.S.A

We have a series of Jamie Kutch's wines available at significant discounts and some are now further reduced. A pioneer of cool climate, vibrant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, these are some of our favourite wines to come out of the USA; and they are fantastic value, too.

2014 Harlan Estate - A new addition reduced from £4,400 to £3,960 per 6. A rare wine to see on the list at all, let alone at a discount, we have just one six pack of 2014 Harlan available. It has three 98-point scores from Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, James Suckling and Antonio Galloni, and is the style of vintage that over-delivers on its reputation.

2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Au Paradis, Peter Michael - Further reduced from £900 to £750 per 6. "Stunning really" is what James Suckling has to say in his 99-point review of this wine from Peter Michael Winery. Founder Sir Peter was born in England and grew up in Croydon, but made his way to Calistoga to found his eponymous winery after a successful entrepreneurial career.
