Cognac

Cognac is the home of the world’s most prestigious brandy and production methods are subject to strict controls. Cognac must be made from specified grapes of which Ugni Blanc is the most famous. It must then be twice distilled in copper pot stills and aged for at least two years in French oak barrels.

Within the Cognac region there are six subzones of which Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne are the most well-known. Fine Champagne is a blend of Grande and Petite Champagne Cognacs, with at least half coming from Grande Champagne. Cognacs from these different regions all have their own individuality and charm.
