After a wait of seven years – the last generally declared Port vintage was 2017 – we have a declared Port vintage in 2024. This is the longest period without a declaration since 1934-1945.

Whilst the vintages from 2018-2023 were marked by erratic rainfall and prolonged heatwaves, 2024 saw a return to a classic growing season, with flowering in early May, veraison in July and harvest in September with the different varieties reaching full ripeness in their usual sequence.  Moderate daytime temperatures and cool nights meant for perfect phenolic ripeness and fresh acidity. It appears that the wait was worth it: 2024 is a very special vintage for Vintage Port.

The declaration is more or less universal, and we can offer wines from the houses of Cockburn, Croft, Dow, Fonseca, Graham, Quinta do Noval, Quinta do Vesuvio, Smith Woodhouse, Taylor and Warre.
