Chassagne Montrachet Tonton Marcel, Maison Camille Giroud 2019

Tasting Notes

The second year of this contract. Pale yellow colour. This wine has a gracious weight of fruit on the nose, far from over-ripe, indeed evidently picked at the right moment. Yellow plum skins on the bouquet. Very generous on the palate without being heavy and a good touch of acidity. Excellent length behind, a thoroughly interesting wine. Fine tension to finish

Smoky and nicely layered aromas reflect notes of cool citrus, white flower and mineral reduction. The rich, delicious and surprisingly round medium weight flavors are at once seductive and punchy before terminating in a very dry bitter lemon suffused finish. This refreshing effort is already very attractive, and a few years of aging should help to add depth. Worth checking out.
