From 90 year old vines, with 25% whole bunches. Super dense crimson purple with a notably intense bouquet, ripe of course but not lush. Red fruit, this swells majestically on the palate with a wealth of different berry fruits, rich but balanced, and with excellent persistence, a cool chiselled finish. In fact, the aftertaste is gorgeous. Picked in time, 13.9% alcohol.
Note: 75% from Les Beaux Monts and 25% from declassified Echézeaux in the lieu-dit of LoächaussesAn overtly spicy nose features notes of black cherry, poached plum, jasmine tea and a whiff of oak. The rich, full-bodied and powerful middle weight plus flavors coat the mouth on the youthfully austere and mineral-driven finish. I like the balance, and this should reward mid to longer-term cellaring.
