This is aromatically similar to the Champ Canet though with even greater abundance of spice elements. The rich, full-bodied and concentrated medium weight flavors exude a bracing salinity on the beautifully well-detailed, chalky and sappy finish. This could use better depth, but more will almost certainly develop as the Sauzet Folatières almost always ages notably well.
The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières En la Richarde shows its élevage more than the Perrières, exhibiting aromas of pear and peach mingled with nutmeg, vanilla pod and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and chalky structure, it's a success, but it will need a few years to integrate.
