Chablis Montée de Tonnerre, Louis Jadot 2019

Tasting Notes

The 2019 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a taut, crisp, energetic bouquet that displays fine delineation and plenty of mineralité. The fresh, vibrant palate delivers crisp acidity and lemon zest, orange peel and subtle apricot notes, maintaining superb precision and poise through to the satisfyingly persistent finish. Superb!

The 2019 Jadot Montée de Tonnerre ticks all the boxes of a Premier Cru Chablis at a very fair price point. Pale-ish lemon in the glass, it offers the grassy green fruit of cool climate Chardonnay, layered with Chablis' textbook creaminess. The vintage offers some richer stone fruit too, and there is a lightly honeyed, spicy touch. The palate is soft and generous, with buttery confit lemon and poached pear. Savoury yet with good energy, this shows a real sense of place. An unadulterated, textbook Chablis.
