Less than 1,000 cases are produced annually of Cos d'Estournel's white wine which is made from grapes grown in the Goulée vineyard in the Northern Médoc. The vineyard is planted with 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon. First produced in 2005 and now there is also a second wine - Pagodes de Cos Blanc.

Dried tropical fruits like mangoes and green papaya, with lemons and green apples. Limes, too. Full-bodied yet tight and compacted with great length and persistence. Muscular yet fresh. 66% sauvignon blanc and 34% semillon. Drinkable but needs five or six years to soften.
The 2020 Cos d'Estournel Blanc features a higher proportion of Sémillon (34%) than the Pagodes, and it's richer and more textural, bursting with aromas of lemongrass, nectarine, peach and ginger, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and satiny palate. 2023 - 2035
The white Cos d’Estournel 2020 requires a lot of swirling to coax out exotic notes of pineapple, lime cordial, and passion fruit, with hints of coriander seed, orange blossoms, and sea spray. The medium-bodied palate is filled with vibrant tropical fruit and citrus layers, framed by a lively backbone and a satiny texture, finishing long and mineral-laced.
Touch of reduction on the nose, gunsmoke and flint, this is gastronomic and serious, the fint and citrus flavours are hidden at first. A brilliant one-two punch with the first and second wines in the Cos stable this year.
Drinking Window 2023 - 2035
66% Sauvignon Blanc, 34% Sémillon. Cask sample.
More length and precision than the Pagodes Blanc. Pin-point citrus note with a touch of vanilla oak. Good depth of fresh fruit on the palate then length and persistence. Really quite vibrant. (JL) 14%
Drink 2022 – 2028
(66% SB, 34% SM; 24hl/ha; 14% ABV; 8% new)
Pale lemon, already a hint of Semillon wax; rich, vital, concentrated, fairly structured dry white; flesh and finesse, a surprising aromatic volume and complexity at relatively moderate alcohol; a dry white Bordeaux of great class, considerable finesse, and with terrific length. As so often, this is the quality equivalent of a top premier cru white Burgundy. Striking, individual, great dry white wine. 2023–30+.
A super white with dense mango, lemon and lime, as well as some clove and nutmeg. Full-bodied, really complete and long. Sensational. So much potential here. 66% sauvignon blanc and 34% semillon.
The 2020 Cos d'Estournel Blanc is composed of 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 34% Semillon, with an alcohol of 14% and a pH of 3.15. The harvest took place August 31–September 10 with a yield of 24 hectoliters per hectare. It is aging in French oak barrels, 8% new. It bursts from the glass with vibrant notes of lime blossoms, fresh grapefruit and white peaches, plus hints of ripe pears and lemongrass with wafts of chalk dust and wet pebbles. The medium-bodied palate is charged with intense citrus and stony flavors, supported by a seriously racy line of acidity, finishing long and minerally. 2025 - 2040
