Pale garnet in colour, with cool red and blue fruits and a hint of savoury spice on the nose - very fresh and enticing. The palate is bright and savoury, the crunchy red fruits layered with subtle savoury spices and hints of leather. Compact and pure, this is an elegant, fine and cool wine to drink over the next 5+ years.
A fruity and expressive nose is composed mostly of violet, plum and dark cherry scents. There is a hint of earth present on the sleek, delicious and quite supple middle weight flavors that tighten up slightly on the mildly austere finale. This could easily be enjoyed just after release yet should reward a few years of bottle age as well.
The 2014 Bourgogne Rouge has a simple, light-hearted red cherry and bergamot-scented nose that if full of joie-de-vivre. The palate is fleshy on the entry, nicely defined with crisp tannin, surprisingly fleshy and generous on the finish. Recommended.
