Gevrey Chambertin La Marie, Domaine Claude Dugat 2018

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a tiny vineyard that measures only .95 ha; the Dugat holding is one with very old vines that average more than 80 years of age; the 2018 vintage produced 5 barrels or about 1500 bottles**
A pretty and appealingly layered nose combines notes of plum liqueur with those of pomegranate, floral and discreet earth wisps. There is excellent density to the medium-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract as the old vines are definitely evident, all wrapped in a strikingly long, firm and serious finish. This impressive effort is very Gevrey without being especially rustic.
