A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah from the estate vineyard, the 2017 Esquisto offers lots of spice cherry and plum fruits as well as medium body, a rounded, supple texture, ripe tannins, and a good finish. It’s another charming, Côtes du Rhône-like release from this team. Drink between 2019-2026
This is a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah, all co-fermented. It was made with 30% whole cluster and aged in neutral oak. The 2017 Esquisto is pale to medium ruby-purple and opens with warm blueberry and boysenberry notes accented by black tea leaves, crushed stone, bitter chocolate, charcuterie and dried floral perfume. Medium-bodied, it has a good core of dark fruits in the mouth with savory layers, framed by firm, chalky-textured tannins and good freshness, finishing long. 210 cases were made. 2019 - 2025
Peppery and meaty in aroma, this full-bodied wine also shows a good amount of fruit flavor at its core, but it's the black-pepper, beef jus and dark-olive notes that distinguish it. Moderate tannins firm up the texture nicely. It's made from Grenache plus 20% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah. Best through 2025.
