The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes 1er Cru has a pure, vivacious bouquet, with wet granite/sea cave scents permeating the red fruit and blood orange scents surfacing with continued aeration. The taut, crisp palate is medium-bodied, displaying supple tannin and a tingle of licked limestone toward the finish. This is quite an intellectual Aux Combottes and I can see it giving two decades of drinking pleasure. 2022 - 2042
