Chassagne Montrachet, Domaine Fontaine Gagnard 2017

Tasting Notes

A more elegant nose combines notes of various white orchard fruit aromas with those of petrol, resin and a discreet touch of wood. The sleek, caressing and plump medium-bodied flavors possess solid mid-palate density while exhibiting fine depth on the citrusy, clean and agreeable dry and refreshing finish. While this supple effort could actually be enjoyed young, I would be inclined to give it 4 to 7 years of cellar time first. Drink: 2023+

A cuvée that was produced from 1.7 hectares around the village and saw 20% new wood, the 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Village exhibits pretty aromas of white flowers, lime zest, pear and subtle oak vanillin. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and succulent, with nice concentration, an open and expressive core and a precise, chalky finish. This will drink very well out of the gates given its charming but classic profile. 2018 - 2028
