Bright, dark red. Sappy aromas of hard cherry candy and rose petal come across as fresher and more perfumed than those of the 2016 version. Wonderfully sappy and juicy in the mouth, conveying a touch of creaminess but no sign of surmaturité. There's an almost Chambolle-like minerality here but this seriously intense wine is silky and seamless, with the balance and structure to support extended aging. Finishes with superb subtle length and totally buffered tannins. As showy as this compelling premier cru is right now, it would be a shame not to lay it down.
