Puligny Nexe Flore, Benoit Ente 2016

Tasting Notes

Ente explained that the name Nexe Flore is a play on words to suggest Next Floor, meaning a step up in quality. The reason is because there was an error as a holding tank of Puligny villages was accidentally blended with one of Truffière in a proportion of 57% of the former and 43% of the latter! The mistake was not inconsiderable as almost 4000 bottles were produced. Firm reduction renders the nose unreadable today. More positively, there is excellent volume to the round, delicious and again attractively textured medium weight flavors that secrete a subtle minerality on the sappy and impressively long finish. As the name would suggest, this is definitely a 'stepped up' Puligny villages.
