This Corsican red has a fabulous nose of cinnamon, truffles and exotic spices. The fruit is rich and ripe but with good acidity and tannic balance. Much more polished and sophisticated than most Patrimonio wines. A very impressive debut from Lionel Wojcik and Louis Mitjavile.
This wine was aged for 18 months in the same fancy Radoux barrels as are used at Ch Tertre Roteboeuf because the owner is a very good friend of Lulu, son of François Mitjavile. They even recreate the Mitjavile's cellar conditions by spraying a fine mist over the barrels every half an hour. Its very concentrated and glamorous - much less rustic than many Corsican wines - and has sufficient acidity. This vintage just a bit aggressively ripe for me but I have no doubt that this is property to watch.
