Chevalier Montrachet, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey 2016

Tasting Notes

Fresh and quite ripe aromas are composed by liqueur-like notes of apple and pear compote along with hints of spice, acacia blossom and a variety of citrus elements. There is even better density to the quite powerful and full-bodied flavors that also coat the palate with sappy dry extract while displaying ample minerality on the overtly muscular, firm and gorgeously persistent finish where touches of wood and warmth surface. This may change as the two wines develop over time but unusually, the Bâtard is actually the more elegant wine. Drink: 2026+
