Fleur de Thénac Rouge, Château Thénac 2016

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet in colour. The nose here is juicy and ripe, with ample plummy fruit accented with a little blackberry and cassis, together with a little wood smoke. The palate shows pithy but integrated tannins, pushing the fleshy black fruit to the front. There's a little cedar and incense here to add complexity, together with some more savoury dried fruit and iron filings now this has benefited from bottle age. This is drinking superbly now, blending earth, fruit and spice with a softened texture. Enjoy it over the coming five years. A lot of wine for the money.
