This has an entrancing nose of ripe raspberries, dark strawberries and red cherries, as well as pomegranate, blood oranges, exotic and fresh-ground spices and pristine perfume. So luxuriant. There’s a lot to take in. The palate has superior fleshy depth and very fluid mesh-like tannins that wrap long and complete. Cage-like. It delivers such freshness and depth of flavor. This is a triumph. Drink or hold.
Just 550 dozen bottles are made of this Pinot Noir, with 10% whole bunch used in the fermentation to lift the aromatics without dominating the flavour. The result is a pale ruby colour, and perfumed nose of red cherries, wild strawberries, and violets. The palate is creamy and round, with juicy red fruits propped up by wonderfully fine and ripe tannins. The long finish finds focus with bright acidity and subtle spices, with lifted notes of cherry blossom and nutmeg giving the wine great harmony.
