A dark plum color is followed by a bouquet of smoke, licorice, plums, and sweet cherries in this well-made, medium-bodied Pomerol. With sweet tannin as well as a savory mouthfeel, it should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 10-12 years.
Tasted from the chateau reserves with estate manager Vincent Priou. The Beauregard 2004 has an attractive nose: red-berried fruits, wild hedgerow with just a hint of cooked meats. The palate is finely balanced, nice poise, good acidity, showing more elegance than previous vintages, more feminine and pure. This is not a complex Pomerol. There are touches of soy towards the finish. This should drink quite early but again, is well crafted. Tasted September 2009.
