A wine with lots of salt, terracotta and dried berry character. Full body, silky tannins and a fresh and bright finish. Amazing depth and beauty. Needs at least two or three years to soften. Super, but better in 2017. Handmade wine from the owner of Pomerol’s Lafleur.
The Acte 4 is a blend of 51% Merlot picked on 8th October and 49% Cabernet Franc on 13th October – a high percentage of the latter as it is planted of limestone soils. It has a fragrant nose where by the Merlot is actually more expressive than the Cabernet Franc, which is quite unusual. The palate is medium-bodied with tense, fine tannins. It is compact at the moment but it will open up during elevage. There is great purity here, with a very natural balance and a finish that builds nicely in the mouth. Tasted April 2013.
