This has a deep and darker fruited feel to it with dark cherries, blueberries and plenty of toasted spices. The palate has impressive weight and presence. Tannins are cast in thicker lines and there's a strident acid profile that really drives things along. An impressive wine that could use a little time to bed in. Try from 2020.
Complex and intriguing, with fresh raspberry, cherry and tangerine flavors. Sleek and polished, but showing plenty of traction from the tannins. The details are sophisticated and aromatic, delivering notes of dried lavender, black tea, vanilla bean and toasted cumin seed. Drink now through 2030.
Matured in 75% second use and 25% new oak for 11 months, the Estate Pinot Noir has a vivid ruby hue with a wonderful nose of ripe hedgerow fruit, blackberry, cherry and raspberry with a little sappy, sweet vanilla. The palate is spicy with generous bramble fruit lifted by refreshing acidity. Lightly peppery and crunchy with refined, fine, ripe tannins, this is perfect to drink already. Smooth and pure through to the finish, this is quintessential and one of the finest examples of Central Otago Pinot Noir that we have tasted.
