Rauzan-Segla’s finesse-styled 2004 offers raspberry, cherry, forest floor, and dried herb-like characteristics in its deep ruby/purple-hued, medium-bodied personality. With excellent purity, freshness, and precision, it is not a blockbuster claret, but rather a stylish, elegant, accessible effort with sweet tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2022.
Very pretty aromas of blackberry and vanilla. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a delightful finish. Not a big wine, but pretty and attractive. Hard not to drink now. Best after 2009. 12,500 cases made.
Deep crimson. Round, full, concentrated. Rather spicy and licorice-like. Sweet, a bit of wet fur. Quite exciting. Some real spark though quite well mannered too. Quiet. Just lacks a very slight bit of excitement and energy but it is obviously very well made.
A little on the herbal side though well proportioned and quite gentle. Date tasted 17th Feb 09
The 2004 Rauzan-Segla is superior to the 2003, offering a deep ruby/purple hue in addition to a flowery, mineral-infused, sweet black fruit, cherry, and subtle oak-scented bouquet. Medium-bodied, elegant, beautifully concentrated, and well-balanced in a classic, feminine style, it should drink well for 15+ years.
A pretty 2004, not hugely concentrated. A nice balance of delicate fruit and fine tannins. Medium- to full-bodied, with a caressing finish. In harmony with the vintage
