This “best” cask of the Geltz-Zilliken Estate in the 1995 vintage, made from partially frozen fruit, was initially ear-marked for a release via the annual auctions but got somehow overlooked and was eventually released via regular channels in 2014. This gorgeous wine is definitively “Auslese GK” in style as it delivers great scents of mint, spices, gorgeous and delicate exotic fruits. A glorious touch of beeswax brings balance to the zesty acidity (which towers at 9.6 g/l) and the whole experience finishes with a superb silky feel of tea, herbs and fruits. This is a gorgeous wine which is now at maturity and is just silky and no longer overtly sweet. What a beauty! Now-2030
