I had higher hopes for this cuvee based on cask tastings, but in bottle, it is a straightforward Pomerol with soft, round black cherry and berry fruit intermixed with whiffs of wood, earth and spice. Drink this mid-weight, fresh 2008 over the next decade.
This is very broody on the nose with dark cherry, bergamot with touches of cedar coming through as if there was a little Pauillac. Good definition. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, almost chewy tannins, very good fruit concentration although it lacks the precision of the ’09 on the finish. I think the 2009 and 2010 are in a different league to the 2008. Tasted December 2010.
