**Note: a blend of one-third Mazoyères and two-thirds Charmes proper - the fruit comes from a mix of mostly 20+ year, and a small percentage of extremely old, vines; 50% stems**
A very floral nose also offers up notes of black cherry, pepper, spice and plenty of earth that continue over to the very rich, round and impressively concentrated large-scaled flavors that possess outstanding intensity and plenty of drive on the suave and seductively textured finish. While this certainly evidences good size, weight and power, it is essentially a wine of refinement and even finesse in 2010. It is firmly but not imposingly structured and 15 to 18 years should see it at its best. Still, I wouldn't dream of opening a bottle before this has at least 10 years of age on it.
