Sexy aromas of orange zest, toasted bread and nutmeg. Sweet, suave and creamy, with slightly exotic ripeness leavened by ripe lemony acidity. Finishes chewy and very long, with a perfumed wild herb quality extended by harmonious acidity. "Five percent of the chardonnay here is crossed with muscat, which is what gives this wine its early exotic quality," noted Colin, adding that the exotic aspect disappears with aging.
As one might reasonably expect, this is more aromatically refined with an ultra-pure nose of what I can only describe as essence of wet stone, yellow and green citrus nuances as well as rose petal. There is excellent richness to the beautifully delineated, energetic and understated flavors that possess lovely cut and plenty of minerality on the lingering finish. This should reward well medium-term aging.
