**Note: this limited two barrel cuvée is crafted from 70+ year old vines that abut the Musigny climat called La Combe d'Orveau, which is a monopole of Domaine Jacques Prieur; it is not made every vintage as it is only made from shot berries**
This is the first wine to display any appreciable reduction though the big, rich and superbly dense broad-shouldered flavors possess lavish amounts of dry extract that confer an opulence to the velvety and mineral-driven finish. This is a powerful wine that is really remarkably concentrated and hugely long.
(just three barrels made, "always from the same vines") Bright ruby-red. Knockout nose combines blackberry, blueberry, bitter chocolate and mint. Like liquid silk on the palate, with powerful minerality giving the wine vibrancy throughout. Densely packed but not hard, with small black fruits dominating. The slowly building, very long finish really excites the taste buds.
