A whiff of volatile acidity quickly gives way to a stunning reductive nose hinting at pineapple, tangerine, orange, apple and delicately honeyed almonds. It is packed with flavors and has the density not unlike that of a BA. And yet, this remains incredibly light and precise on the palate thanks to great mouth-watering zesty acidity. The finish is not very expressive at this stage and mostly driven by smoky slate (something not unusual in young Prüm wines), but the length is stunning. This is a great Auslese in the making. 2017-2030
Dances out of the glass on the nose. Such delicacy and life! Racy. Masses of acid and so much potential. Glorious vitality. No excess sulphur - Katharina Prüm really seems to be reducing the apparent sulphur in these young wines.
