Tasting Notes

A blend of 84% Semillon and 16% Sauvignon Blanc, this wine displays oodles of figs, melon, crushed rock, white flowers and grapefruit. Its excellent texture, medium to full body make for a beautiful example of dry white Graves. Anticipated maturity: now-2025.

A blend of 84% Semillon and 16% Sauvignon Blanc, this has a simple nose with grapefruit, a touch of green lemon and beeswax. The palate has a fresh, slightly waxy entry, nice acidity, touches of lanolin with a fine lime cordial finish. Harmonious and fresh. Tasted March 2010.

Full-bodied, with sliced lemon and papaya character, bright acidity and a mineral, lemon-rind finish. Dense. Very good concentration. This is made from the young white grape vines of La Mission and Haut-Brion; new second wine for both.

This is the blend of offcuts from the white grands vins from both La Mission and Haut-Brion that was once known as Les Plantiers. It contains lots of Sémillon because they decided to put lots of Sauvignon Blanc into Haut-Brion Blanc. Very rich and lanolin-like on the nose. Lots of sweetness and pleasure for quite early drinking. Lovely stuff! But too rich to drink without food, I should think. Spicy, almost fat. But just kept in check. Just fades a little on the finish. Date tasted 2nd April 2010. Drink 2012-2018.

An 84% Semillon-16% Sauvignon blend from both La Mission and Haut-Brion: lemon yellow, white flowers and herbal nose, still slightly phenolic, but lovely length and balance. Drink 2011-16.
