Blackberry and light vanilla aromas follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with fine tannins. Fruity. Best after 2006. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
Rich and round and racy. A little awkward. Very St-Estèphe. Chewy end. One of the most youthful of these wines. (Average group score: 15)
The fleshiness of the Merlot shows on the nose which is packed with black plum. Lots of different flavours are there on the palate with bramble and cassis very much in evidence, their richness supported by some fresher bilberry. The tannins feel ripe giving a suppleness to the mid palate, lots of liquorice and then towards the back more structure is apparent from the toasty oak.
