Tasted blind at Farr's 2002 Bordeaux tasting. This has superb definition and purity on the nose: raspberry, wild strawberry, a touch of violet and graphite. The palate is medium-bodied, firm tannins, smoke and graphite, nice poise and length with a hint of bitter cherry on the aftertaste. This surpasses the limitations of the growing season and vindicates my positive appraisal in barrel. Joyous! Tasted October 2009.
Drink 2010-17 Sweet and a little jagged with some bone dry, leafy elements. Very dry end. Serious stuff with a hint of buckwheat.
