Year in and year out, there is rarely a better wine for the money than this dark garnet Gloria. The 2003 reveals a terrific nose of forest floor, cedarwood, Christmas fruitcake, spice box, black currants and cherries. The tannins are well-integrated, sweet and round. Medium-bodied, juicy, fresh and lively, this fully mature 2003 can be enjoyed over the next several years. Drink 2014-2017
Aromas and flavors of berry, currant and toasted oak follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a medium finish. Blowsy. Best after 2009. 20,000 cases made.
Lovely fruit in the middle - juicy. Not too baked and dry. St-Julien balance. Though very mineral. Well done! (Average group score: 17.1)
2003 Gloria placed joint eighth overall, out of 100 wines tasted blind, at the 2003 Farr Vintners Blind Tasting held in October 2010. For more information, please visit www.farrvintners.com/blog.php
A sexy, smoky nose of tapenade, black cherry jam, cedar, and Asian spices soars from the glass of this expressive 2003. Once past the flamboyant aromatics, the wine reveals broad, expansive flavors, medium to full body, low acidity, and an undeniably exciting style. Consume it over the next decade. It is a sleeper of the vintage.
Incredible aromas of black licorice and ripe currant character. Full-bodied, with soft and round tannins and a long finish. Blowsy. Lovely wine.
