This has a less extrovert tropical nose with notes of mango and passion fruit but married with an underlying sense of minerality and perhaps with great definition. The palate is very well balanced with immense fruit concentration with a tad more creamy new oak than the other wines. Good acidity, racy and spicy towards the petrol and honey tinged finish. Very good length, but you could almost say it is almost trying too hard. Fine. Tasted April 2008
This is creamy and very, very long, with papaya, green apple, cream and tropical fruit. Full body. Exotic flavors. Impressive. Complex
Broad, spicy, quite complex aromas. Lots of ambition on the nose. Big and bold but very gorgeous. For drinking with food a heavyweight but with excellent freshness and acidity too. Similar in style to Smith Haut Lafitte but a little oilier. Drink 2010-16
Lemon-yellow color. Sexy aromas of pineapple, lemon and minerals, along with a resiny honeyed suggestion. Very rich and fat, with a slight youthful aggressiveness to the expansive flavors of mirabelle and honey. Impressively full wine, finishing with a slightly phenolic character and a flavor of ripe pineapple. For all its power, this also displays an elegant side.
Bright gold. Creamy, oaky nose. Broad, oaky palate, a little tiring. Some nice fruit, but not really enough for the oak. Drink 2013-18. 3 stars.
