Tasting Notes

The 2023 Pinot Noir Bressay Estate is one of the most complete wines in the range. The aromatics alone are dazzling. Crushed rose petal, mint, dried flowers, blood orange and red/purplish fruit all scream out of the glass. The 33% stems lend notable aromatic presence and a good bit of structure. Coastal influences are so pronounced. What a gorgeous wine this is. Drink: 2028-2038

Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, January 2026

The 2023 Pinot Noir Bressay Estate Vineyard comes from high-density vines planted in 2005. Grapes were harvested on September 21 and 23, and the wine was fermented with around 33% whole clusters. Matured for 15 months in 33% new French oak, it’s expressive and singular on the nose: raspberry jam and blood orange are accented by wafts of lavender, juniper, tea leaves and spice. The medium-bodied palate is just as impressive, offering an effortless balance of sapidity and vibrancy. Its detailed flavors are structured by fine, tea-like tannins, and it has a very long finish with soaring floral perfume. 600 cases were made. Drink: 2025-2043

Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, September 2025

A super-focused, single-vineyard wine with intense fruity, bitter and savory flavors forming a fascinating blend. Dried blueberries, black cherries, creme de cassis, amaro liqueur, spices and great depth. So much intensity is bundled into this compact, energized and age-worrthy wine made from a single block in the winery’s own Bressay Vineyard. Drinkable now, but best from 2030.
