Tasting Notes

An elegant, luxurious wine, the 2023 Pinot Noir Highland Divide immediately announces an important vintage at DuMOL. Crushed red/purplish berries, cinnamon, mint and orange peel are beautifully laced together in the glass. The 2023 is fabulous. Vineyard sites are Estate, MacIntyre and Bressay, all of which are densely planted ranches. Drink: 2025-2033

Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, January 2025

The 2023 Pinot Noir Highland Divide comes mainly from the Dumol Estate Vineyard, plus smaller portions from the MacIntyre and Bressay Estate Vineyards. Grapes were harvested September 14 through October 5, and the wine was matured for 15 months in 30% new French oak. It has slowly opening aromas of pomegranate, dark cherry, flint, charcuterie and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated, nuanced flavors streaked with earth and spice. It’s framed by chalky tannins and vibrant acidity and has a long, layered finish. It will benefit from an hour or two in a decanter. 1,550 cases were made. Drink: 2025-2035
