Chassagne Montrachet Clos St Jean (Red), Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot 2008

Tasting Notes

As is usually the case, this is finer and more elegant if not quite as ripe with cool, very fresh and attractively nuanced red currant, plum and wet stone notes where the latter element can also be found on the beautifully detailed and seductively textured middle weight flavors that are supported by finer tannins and very good length. This is not as robust or structured as the Morgeot but it's certainly more refined. A choice. (Drink starting 2014)
