The 2019 Meursault La Sève du Clos is brilliant, unfurling in the glass with aromas of peach, pear, wheat toast, orange oil and honeycomb, framed by a subtle touch of youthful reduction. Medium to full-bodied, deep and muscular, it's a seamless, layered wine with huge reserves of concentration and structuring extract, underpinned by a racy spine of acidity. This is an especially elegant Sève du Clos that's one of the finest renditions of this cuvée I've ever tasted chez Ente. Drink: 2027-2060
Pale lemon in colour. We know now what to expect from La Sève du Clos and the 2019 does indeed deliver a sensational bouquet, fully ripe, but beautifully nuanced and freshening up in the glass, to becomes more classic. Absolutely heart-stoppingly brilliant, with immense depth behind, fleshes out considerably, then wave after wave of balanced ripeness, returning to white stone fruit with just a little peachy top note. A wine to linger over indefinitely. Most definitely!
History on the nose – great intensity and some smokiness. Real grip and structure with refinement and persistence. Truffle notes. Drink: 2025-35
