Cabernet Sauvignon ONDA, Dana Estates 2016

Tasting Notes

I reviewed the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Onda earlier this year, but I was certainly happy to taste this beauty again. A blend of all of the estate vineyards and based on 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, it's a pretty, elegant wine offering medium to full-bodied notes of ripe blackcurrants, mulberries, chocolate, incense, and smoke tobacco. It shows the more elegant, understated style of the 2016 vintage, is medium to full-bodied, and has rock star tannins along with a great finish. As I wrote last year, it's beautifully done and is going to evolve for 20-25 years in cold cellars. Drink between 2021-2046.
