The 2022 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is from the Sheoak vineyard, and it hails from a very warm but very good season in Margaret River. While the aromas of the SR Yallingyup Cabernet Sauvignon from the same vintage tasted beside this one lean heavily into the saturated/luscious fruit, this is far more balanced aromatically, and it offers a yin and yang of sweet fruit and savory structure. It has layers of dried herbs, tobacco and gravel alongside mulberry, cassis, raspberry and graphite. In the mouth, the wine is concentrated but not heavy, with a succulent core of fruit that sails across the palate. It has really great weight, supple and blanketing without density or heft, and powdery tannins. Lovely wine! 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Drink: 2024-2037
