***2022 Carex Chardonnay - 95 points***
The 2022 Chardonnay Carex comes from a slightly colder vineyard than TBH and takes a silver/yellow hue in the glass. On opening, it reveals lovely, savory aromatics of candle wax, fresh apple, lemon balm, and crushed stone. Medium-bodied, it’s fantastic on the palate, with notes of rocky earth, a great mineral texture, fresh, mouthwatering lift, and great length. Drink it over the coming 12 or so years. 2024-2036.
***2022 Mindego Ridge Pinot Noir - 95 points***
A transparent, youthful ruby hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir Mindego Ridge is from south of the bay in the Santa Cruz Mountains and shows off a refined and lifted profile. The nose offers a wild bouquet of pine, fresh herbs, cranberry, and rosehip. Medium-bodied, it is linear with fine tannins and fresh acidity that retains finessed tension, and it never becomes austere. It’s going to drink fantastically over the next 12 years. 2024-2036.
***2022 Chloe Pinot Noir - 96 points***
Pouring a youthful ruby with a hint of magenta, the 2022 Pinot Noir Cuvee Chloe comes from vines at the DuMol Estate on the Sonoma Coast that were planted to a Swan clone of Pinot Noir originally sourced from Vosne-Romanée. It reveals a lush and floral bouquet of fresh violets, pure strawberries, mossy herbs, and wet stone. Approachable, with a gentle stony texture, it has a luxurious silky feel and a gently tapered finish that slowly floats away, leaving behind more red-fruited highlights shining through, with a cranberry-noted finish. Drink over the next 10-12 years. 2024-2036
