The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Belair 1er Cru has a well-defined nose, the fruit here darker than its peers. Blackberry commingles with raspberry, briar and neatly-integrated oak, and there is clever use of whole bunch here. The palate is sweet and ripe on the entry, fleshy in texture and very pure in terms of its red fruit profile, with a little more depth and body on the finish than some others. This represents a delightful Gevrey Premier Cru. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2025-2044)
