Background notes of wood and nut oil nuances frame those of pear, apple and acacia blossom. There is super density of material to the sleek and tautly muscular big-bodied flavors that possess excellent complexity on the driving, firm and very serious finish. Patience definitely required.
Full primrose, attractive balanced oak, ripe fruit, plums and white peach notes. Plenty of wood behind, a little barrel toast, very slightly drying in its youth but this should balance out. It is a touch evolved with perhaps some botrytis. Not inconsistent with other vintages of this wine at the same stage, but it usually works out well later on.
