Sergant 2018

Tasting Notes

The 2018 Sergant, which impressed from barrel, has a captivating bouquet of precise black cherry, wild strawberry and rose petal aromas that waft from the glass. The palate is well balanced with fine-grained tannins, a silky-smooth texture and beautifully integrated oak toward the finish. This is a top-quality Lalande de Pomerol, a bit of a hidden gem. This Lalande de Pomerol is made from 30 year old vines – mainly Merlot with some Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose there are exotic notes of Asian Spices, smoke and vanilla. The palate is plush, plump and creamy with soft, ripe tannins and a cashmere mouthfeel. Hedonistic and forward in style, this will provide sumptuous early drinking pleasure. A voluptuous and forward right bank Bordeaux at a bargain price.
