Nuits St Georges Les Chaignots, Mugneret-Gibourg 2022

Tasting Notes

The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Chaignots 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with Morello cherries, crushed strawberry, potpourri and touches of white truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth texture, the 50% new oak making this very sleek and sensual. It’s a fruit-driven and luscious Les Chaignots with hints of blood orange and quince, finishing with a dash of pepper. Very fine. 2026 - 2042

The 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots is ripe and flamboyant, bursting with aromas of sweet berries and cherries mingled with those petals, orange zest and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with a broad and textural attack that segues into a seamless core of fruit, this will offer a broad drinking window.

Here the nose is fresher still with its more floral and spicier aromas of red pinot fruit, plum and violet. There is again good volume and solid punch to the medium-bodied and lightly stony flavors that deliver fine length on the dusty, youthfully austere and slightly more complex finale. Note: from a 1.2 ha holding
