Lemon and lime. Floral with lime blossom and a light honeysuckle. A thrilling energy through vibrant acidity, plenty of ripe lemons and the palate, and excellent length. Plenty of bounce to this with the extra weight of this sector. There should be enough to go round: 5 x 456 litre and 7 x 228 litre barrels.
Features lovely nectarine and green apple fruit with touches of smoke and a bit of spice, although the reduction is not overdone. The texture is rich and silky, with balanced acidity and great finesse. The grapes come from 1ha of vines that are on the border with Chassagne, almost surrounded by Les Encégnières/Enseignères; however, according to Benoît Bachelet, the terroir is completely different, it being composed of compact clay. This delicious wine will drink well on release but should improve for at least 15 years in the cellar. (Drink between 2025-2040)
