Here too there is enough wood to mention but not to mask the similar but even spicier aromas of Granny Smith apples, white flowers and just sliced citrus. Much like the Chevalier, the big-bodied flavors possess excellent intensity as well as plenty of minerality on the detailed, focused, extremely firm and powerful finale that is also borderline tannic. Despite the opulence of the mid-palate, this is definitely a 'buy and forget' Montrachet that will very likely need 15 years of aging before it realizes its full, and considerable, potential. The 2022 Montrachet Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot) is an unctuous but structured wine, offering up aromas of confit citrus, buttered toast, hazelnuts and flowers, followed by a full-bodied, ample, layered palate that's thick and textural, with good underlying dry extract and wears its heart on its sleeve.
