A wonderfully broad-ranging nose combines notes of bee's wax, jasmine tea, white-fleshed fruit, cinnamon and fennel along with a variety of floral elements, most notably acacia. There is superb volume and mid-palate density to the big-bodied and overtly powerful flavors that possess almost painful intensity before culminating in a massively long finale of class and grace. Like the Chevalier, this is seriously compact and so tightly wound that I doubt that it will be open for business much before a decade has passed. In a word, magnificent.
