The 2017 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is the most brooding of Duroché's wines, wafting from the glass with a rich bouquet of mulberries, plums and wild berries, mingled with smoked meats, incense, spices and rich soil tones. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with a rich and layered core, succulent acids and a long, intensely sapid finish. 2027 - 2050
Using more whole bunches in 2017 than he did in 2016 (up from 10 to 30%), this is a balanced, textured Clos de Bèze from Pierre Duroché, showing the finesse and perfume that's typical of his wines. It has well-handled 20% new wood, sappy, savoury complexity and a poised, refreshing finish. (Drink between 2024-2029)
