Cabernet Sauvignon, Vangone Estate 2021

Tasting Notes

The single-varietal 2021 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon was tasted as a barrel sample, to be bottled in May 2024. Deep garnet-purple in color, it erupts from the glass with powerful scents of creme de cassis, blueberry compote, and dark chocolate followed by hints of wild sage, fragrant soil, and black truffle with a waft of aniseed. The full-bodied palate is so, so bright, with enticing tension and super-ripe, fine grained tannins, finishing long and perfumed. This is absolutely stunning!

Not yet bottled, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has perfection written all over it. A full-bodied, broad, layered, sensational effort with perfumed red and black fruits, graphite, crushed stone, and loads of spicy notes that are to die for, it’s rich, full-bodied, has a layered, seamless mouthfeel, and beautiful tannins. This will see a full 32 months in oak before bottling, and it s clearly in the same league as the 2019, if not better.
